Highlight the text which you want to change format with the mouse and release the mouse button. Same formatting style gets reapplied on the new selection.

You will notice that while selecting the text, your pointer now has a paintbrush beside it.
This indicates the format painter is currently active.
As you release mouse, chosen style gets reapplied to new selection.

Press left button of your mouse and drag the mouse across the text to change address and then release the mouse button.  
The format painter then stays active until you press the ESC key to turn it off.

Press ESC key to turn format painter off.  
Tip -
You can add the formatting to multiple selections of text, double-click the Format painter button instead of clicking once.
Then press ESC key to turn it off when it is not required.
