Exit Word
 
When you are through working and have saved your work, you can close the file.
 
To save the current document using the same file name, you can use Save command. Word will save any new changes using the same file name.
Click the Microsoft Office Button and click Close to close the current document
or you can also close the document by clicking the Close icon if it's visible on the standard toolbar.
Document disappears from the screen.

Tip -
Use the Save command frequently to save changes to your document. You would not want loose changes you did, just in case a power failure shut your computer down.
