Within each tab is a selection of groups that show related items together. Command buttons in each group carry out a command or display a menu of commands. Similar commands are grouped together making the ribbon very task oriented.

Click on the Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, View tab one after other to see corrosponding section.  
Ribbon commands are context sensitive.
This means that ribbon is going to change as you work with your documents in Word. For example, if you are working with a table, the ribbon displays the various table commands and tools.
If you are working with pictures, the ribbon displays various options available for pictures.

Click on Lisa's birthday party
Now you will see text box tools highlighted in the top area.

Now click on the picture in the word document.
You will notice pictures tools in the top area.
